Pre-Ballet (age 4-5)
A ballet class for our youngest dancers which teaches the basics of ballet while incorporating the use of imagination along with music and movement.
Ballet
A graded system of technique classes. Classical ballet provides the fundamentals for all aspects of dance. Dancers will learn strength, stamina, flexibility, technique, placement, musicality, and artistry.
Classical Ballet is a highly developed form of dance, and the basis of training for all other dance forms. Ballet develops good posture, muscle tone, an understanding of musical form and structure, and physical and mental discipline. Students are placed in carefully graded classes, based on a combination of ability, experience, and age; and are promoted when they have mastered the steps and theories presented at each grade level. Sometimes it may be necessary for a dancer to study in a particular grade for more than one year to build the skills necessary to move forward.
Modern
The exploration of the movement capabilities of the body with an emphasis on the dance elements of time, space, and dynamics. Dancers do not wear shoes.
Jazz
A rhythmic and unique form of dance that creates dancers who are strong, expressive, and musical.
Tap
A class developing a strong sense of rhythm, phrasing, and music listening skills. Dancers wear shoes with metal taps on the balls of the feet and heels.
Hip-Hop
A fun filled dance class offering the newest movement ideas in hip-hop, pop, reggae club, and funk. Gives students the opportunity to develop a diverse sense of style, while using family friendly music and hip-hop dance.
