Denton H. Gay, originally from Abaco, Bahamas, began his professional training at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. During a brief hiatus, He traveled to Nassau, Bahamas where he auditioned and became a member of Bahamian Dance Theatre Company. While training there he was promoted to Rehearsal Director. Denton has received two national awards at the 2009 E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival: National Winner in instrumental solo (woodwind, Alto Saxophone) and National winner in Popular Dances (solo). In May 2014, Denton received his B.A from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and relocated to Lakeland, FL. Along with a certification in Zumba instruction, Denton continually seeks to inspire others who desire to enhance their artistic gifts and talent. This is Denton’s 8th season with Florida Dance Theatre.
