Join Florida Dance Theatre for The Hope Movement. A weekend filled with local dance artists from around Central Florida will gather on the weekend of October 23rd-24th to celebrate mental health and wellness. This two-day event offers workshops in dance, movement therapy integrations, as well as discussions with mental health clinicians on resources open and available within our communities.
On Sunday, October 24th at 3pm, FDT’s professional company along with guest artists will provide the general public with an eclectic dance concert surrounding the theme.
The Shift is a live event collaboration between Central Florida's top Dance Directors & Coalition, September 17th & 18th, 2021, at Orlando's Ballet Centre.
The Shift is a collaboration between the Dance Directors Coalition of Orlando to bring audiences a season preview of professional works. Professional organizations/individuals in this installment include: Crawford Jazz Project, Florida Dance Theatre, Emergence Dance Company, Emotions Dance Company, Vincent Sanrocco and Gillian Hadley. Support the arts, these local companies and get a preview of professional work.

The Florida Dance Theatre is excited to announce that once again our auditions for The Nutcracker are open to the public. We are thrilled to see the very many talented dancers from our local area join us for this time-honored and treasured holiday performance. Our role in the community is to encourage the art of dance not just with our Dance Academy students and the Company but also those dancers working so very hard across the county.
The Nutcracker is our largest and most attended holiday event. Taking place at the Branscomb Memorial Auditorium on Florida Southern College's campus December 17th, 18th, & 19th. The seats are filled with friends, family, arts enthusiasts and community partners. This year's performance will be our largest production for so many reasons but the most obvious is to celebrate the strength, sustainability and endurance of our dancers and community during the pandemic.
We can't wait to see your faces and welcome you to submit your audition application today. Dancers must be 3 years of age and older to apply. Bring your headshot to your audition and don't forget your pointe shoes. Rehearsals will begin Saturday, September 11th.
