ALADDIN, A fusion of contemporary ballet and folk dance styles rooted in Armenian culture, take a journey through the marketplace, mystical cave of wonders, and more! With original choreography by Stefan Dolbashian, this production is filled with tremendous athleticism and whimsical delight. “I am so excited to share my Armenian heritage with our audiences. This original adaptation of Aladdin has allowed me to reconnect with my heritage and more importantly the spirit of my father” said Dolbashian. The musical score for FDT’s production of Aladdin is a compilation of authentic Armenian music played by Dolbashian’s late father, John along with freelanced musicians celebrating the rich diverse sounds of Armenian traditions. This is the first year that the organization has presented this show. The 2022 cast consists of members of the FDT professional company, students from its academy and Florida Southern College, as well as professional dancers throughout the Central Florida area.
